Dr. Dorota Lubanska is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Windsor and a Research Associate in the Porter Lab. She earned her M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Biochemistry from the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poland and completed her Ph.D. in Science at the University of Windsor, where she studied the role of Spy1 in neurogenesis and glioma biology.

Dr. Lubanska’s research focuses on cell‑cycle regulation, stem cell biology in the central nervous system, and mechanisms driving brain tumour initiation and progression. Her work examines Spy1‑mediated pathways, glioma stem cell dynamics, and tumour microenvironment interactions, contributing to the development of advanced therapeutic strategies for glioblastoma and other neurological malignancies. She has published widely in cancer and stem cell biology, supervises undergraduate research trainees, and has received multiple Faculty of Science awards recognizing her contributions to research and health and safety initiatives.
