A collaborative team of local and international researchers, alongside a person with lived experience, is investigating whether glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, differs across age groups. Using patient-derived organoids and advanced imaging, the team will examine tumour growth and behaviour in pediatric, adolescent/young adult, and adult patients, then apply machine learning to create detailed 3D tumour maps and identify patterns linked to clinical and molecular characteristics.
This research could improve understanding of how glioblastoma develops across the lifespan, helping identify age-specific disease patterns and informing more personalized approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
