The CANadian Consortium of Clinical Trial TRAINing platform (CANTRAIN) is a national training platform designed to build capacity and strengthen expertise in clinical and translational research across Canada. CANTRAIN offers highly specialized, competency-based training programs for individuals involved in all aspects of clinical trials, from early career investigators to experienced professionals.
Through WE-SPARK Health Institute's partnership with CANTRAIN, members affiliated with our partner institutions - Erie Shores HealthCare, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, St. Clair College, University of Windsor, and Windsor Regional Hospital - have access to comprehensive training opportunities that align with international best practices and Canadian regulatory standards.
How to get started:
(1) Open CANTRAIN.
(2) Navigate to the Clinical Trials Tranining Programs tab to explore available courses, streams, and career development programs
(3) Complete the registration questionnaire through the registration portal (blue box).
(4) Within 24 hours, you will receive an Account Creation Notification email from CANTRAIN with your login credentials.
(5) Go to https://cantrain.blackboard.com, click "Sign in with third-party account', and select Genius SSO to log in with your assigned username and password.
(6) Begin your training modules and ensure you keep your training records up-to-date for your research files.

Regulatory Compliance | All clinical research involving humans must follow regulations to protect participants' safety. Researchers and staff involved in clinical trials are required to complete training in ethics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Canadian legal standards.
