The L.E.A.R.N. Program is designed to meaningfully engage people with lived experience (PWLE) in health research. It provides training, resources, and opportunities for PWLE to collaborate with researchers, aiming to make research more inclusive, relevant, and community-informed.
It has three main components:
The L.E.A.R.N. database is a centralized, secure registry of PWLE who are interested in contributing to health research. It enables researchers to connect with PWLE for collaboration, consultation, or advisory roles across various stages of the research process.
Our annual conference is integrating PWLE by offering tailored supports, tools, and opportunities to connect with researchers with the aim to create a more inclusive environment where PWLE feel welcomed, prepared, and empowered to participate meaningfully.
The L.E.A.R.N. Advisory Board is composed of PWLE who guide the development and implementation of local research projects. The board provides feedback, ensures that programs are reflecting community needs, and helps strengthen partnerships between PWLE and the research community.
