Dr. Joel Cort is the Associate Dean, Research & Graduate Studies, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Windsor. He earned his BA (Honours) in Kinesiology & Physical Education from Wilfred Laurier University, his MHK in Occupational Biomechanics from the University of Windsor, and his PhD in Biomechanics from McMaster University.
Dr. Cort’s research focuses on the mechanics and stability of human joints, particularly the lumbar spine and knee, using electromyography, three‑dimensional motion capture, robotics, and biomechanical modeling. His work aims to better understand joint safety and contribute to injury prevention.
