Dr. Scott Harroun earned his PhD in Chemistry from the Université de Montréal. He completed his MSc in Applied Science and his BSc (Honours) in Chemistry at Saint Mary’s University.
His research focuses on developing nanoscale biosensors for biomedical diagnostics and studying biochemical processes. His work integrates DNA, proteins, plasmonic nanoparticles, and fluorescent molecules to detect disease biomarkers and characterize biomolecular interactions. Using experimental and computational methods, his lab applies techniques like fluorescence and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy to advance analytical chemistry, nanotechnology, and medical diagnostics.
