Dr. Yawo Kobara is an Assistant Professor of Business Data Analytics and Machine Learning at the Odette School of Business. He holds a PhD in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences from Western University, an MSc in Financial Engineering, an MSc in Mathematical Sciences, and a BSc in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences.

Dr. Kobara’s research applies advanced statistical, machine learning, and operations research methods to improve healthcare system performance and decision‑making. His work spans healthcare capacity modeling, patient‑flow optimization, survival analysis, and medical image analytics, with publications across healthcare management, operational research, and medical informatics. He is particularly interested in quantitative approaches that strengthen efficiency, equity, and evidence‑based decision‑making in complex health system environments.
