Be A Mental Health Advocate

Be A Mental Health Advocate How to Be a Mental Health Advocate Mental Health Advocacy Tips/Guidance Help to spread the word about mental health discussions and issues through social media, involvement in local events/movements and volunteering. Engage in conversations about mental health and wellbeing where you can. Show care and compassion when people speak to you about mental health, personally or otherwise. Listen attentively to others. Try to provide responses which respect others’ boundaries and vulnerabilities. Direct others to helpful, easily accessible resources. *Do NOT feel obliged to provide advice or solutions, especially if you don’t feel comfortable or qualified in doing so. Showing that you care while providing support and resources is more than acceptable.*   Helpful Resources BeThere.org: Online platform created by Jack.org that provides the 5 Golden Rules of how to safely and effectively be there for someone.
