Dr. Bilal Akil is an Emergency Physician and Trauma Team Leader at Erie Shores HealthCare, an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at Western University, and the Medical Director for SkyCare Air Ambulance. He provides high‑acuity emergency and trauma care while leading clinical teams and mentoring medical learners across undergraduate and postgraduate training.

Dr. Akil’s academic work focuses on emergency medicine education, clinical training, and system innovation. He develops evidence‑based teaching, simulation programming, and scholarly activities that strengthen clinical decision‑making and patient safety.
