Dr. Amy Fitzgerald is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Windsor. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Michigan State Univeristy, an MA in Sociology with a criminology specialization, and a BA Honours in Criminology from the University of Windsor.
Her research examines how human actions shape and harm the environment and animals, with work spanning areas such as animal abuse and intimate partner violence, industrial animal agriculture, hunting cultures, the pet food industry, and environmental and animal advocacy movements.
