Dr. Andrew Perrotta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Windsor and Director of the Sport Science Laboratory within the Centre for Human Performance and Health. His research focuses on sport science and sport medicine and its direct application to enhancing health and performance. Dr. Perrotta's team concentrates on examining the dose-response to exercise using wearable technology to quantify exercise stress, and to examine the response in biological function and athletic performance.
He holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia, along with a masters in applied exercise physiology from the University of Calgary (M.Kin), and undergraduate training in kinesiology from the University of Guelph (B.A.Sc). As a practitioner, Dr. Perrotta is a clinical exercise physiologist (CSEP-CEP) and a certified strength conditioning specialist (NSCA-CSCS). He has held sport science positions within Canadian National Sporting Organizations and multiple university athletic programs.
