Environmental stressors such as extreme weather, heat waves, and poor air quality can affect people's health and well-being. This project will
explore whether these factors may also influence rates of intimate partner violence in the Windsor-Essex region. Researchers will review existing
evidence, work with community partners, and examine local service-use data alongside environmental conditions to look for possible connections. The findings will help guide future research and support efforts to improve prevention, safety, and community services.
Understanding how extreme weather and other environmental stressors may affect the risk of intimate partner violence can help communities better support survivors and strengthen prevention efforts.
