Dr. Gelsea Pizzuto Serra is a Primary Investigator in the Department of Research and Innovation at St. Clair College. She is also a Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor, and an Elementary Teacher with the Greater Essex County District School Board.
She has a PhD in Educational Studies (Cognition and Learning) through a joint program with the University of Windsor, Brock University, and Lakehead University. She also holds a Master of Education (Administration), a Bachelor of Arts in Child Psychology, and Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor; as well as an Early Childhood Education Diploma from St. Clair College.
Her current tri-funded research, supported by NSERC and the CCI College and Community Social Innovation Fund, evaluates the impact of an in-school play-based program on literacy development in English language learners.
