Nurses are often the first to notice when a patient's condition is getting worse, but busy hospital environments can make it difficult to pause and think through complex situations. This project will test whether adding short structured reflection activities to daily care team meetings can help nurses strengthen their critical thinking and decision-making skills. Nurses will take part in reflective discussions during routine rounds and complete assessments before and after the program. The goal is to improve nurses' confidence, clinical judgment, and ability to recognize patient concerns early.
The findings could provide rural and community hospitals with a simple, low-cost way to support nurses and enhance patient safety.
