Young people with cancer have unique emotional, social, and decision-making needs that are not always addressed in healthcare systems designed for children or older adults. This project will work with adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors, caregivers, and healthcare providers to develop a framework that helps young people take a more active role in their care. Through discussions and collaborative workshops, participants will identify practical ways to improve communication, support decision-making, and ensure youth voices are heard throughout the cancer journey. The goal is to improve the care experience and better support the needs of young people with cancer.

By building on the experiences of young people with cancer, this project will help create practical tools that support meaningful participation in care decisions and strengthen partnerships between patients and healthcare providers.
