Older adults can lose strength and mobility during hospital stays due to inactivity. This project will test an after-hours movement program that helps patients stay active with support from healthcare staff, students, and volunteers. The study will explore whether the program improves mobility, supports recovery, and helps older adults maintain their independence during hospitalization.
The findings could help rural hospitals adopt simple, affordable programs that prevent physical decline and support better outcomes for older patients.
