Medical isotopes play a critical role in diagnosing and treating diseases such as cancer, but their short shelf life can limit access. This project will identify the isotopes most needed in Windsor-Essex and across Canada and assess which could be produced locally using a proposed accelerator-based facility. The study will evaluate clinical demand, technical feasibility, and potential impact to help guide future isotope production in the region.

Findings will provide a roadmap for regional isotope production, helping reduce reliance on distant suppliers, improve supply resilience, and enhance access to advanced imaging and treatment technologies.
