Inflammation in muscles can contribute to weakness and muscle loss in many health conditions, including cancer, diabetes, and aging. However, it can be difficult to study the effects of inflammation because many research models also cause significant muscle damage. This project will test a new, low-cost way to study muscle inflammation in mice that allows researchers to examine how inflammation develops, affects muscle function, and improves over time. The findings will help advance our understanding of how inflammation contributes to muscle weakness and may support future research on preventing muscle loss in chronic disease.

This project will provide researchers with a simple and reliable way to study muscle inflammation, helping advance research into treatments that prevent muscle loss and weakness in chronic disease.
