We aim to answer pressing questions related to the field of fluorine-containing molecules for diagnostic (positron emission tomography or PET) imaging. We intend to prepare, characterize, and study new metal-containing catalysts that display unique fluorine transfer patterns, producing high-quality data suitable for dissemination. We will target short-term milestones in an effort to constrain hypotheses regarding project development and in so doing, provide a mechanism for the training of highly qualified personnel (HQP).

The goal of this project is to develop new fluorination strategies targeting the generation of [18F]-labeled (F = fluorine) PET imaging agents.
