Bio

Ms. Berlasty is a Part-Time Faculty at St. Clair College in the School of Community Studies. She completed here MA in Education at the University of Windsor. Her work is focusing on curriculum development and equity in education. She primarily teaches in the Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) program at SCC, as well as works as a support staff in the Community Integration through Cooperative Education (CICE) program for students with varying learning challenges, wherein she is a Part-Time Learning Facilitator.

Ms. Berlasty is the Project Director on an NSERC College and Community Innovation Fund titled, “Addressing Child Literacy Concerns in Windsor-Essex County through a Place- and Equity-Based Cradle-to-Career Approach”. This project is focused on emergent literacy and its correlation to the cycle of poverty. The project has been working with its partner, ProsperUs, which is a branch of United Way Windsor-Essex, to co-develop a literacy initiative in target communities
