This project builds on established home-monitoring programs in the local area such as the COPD program administered by the Erie St. Clair LHIN. We aim to provide a pre-hospital home-monitoring and evaluation program which will enable COVID-positive patients to remain at home while it is safe for them to do so, and will trigger those who need to attend hospital to come in before they experience significant respiratory compromise. The goal of the program will be to provide vulnerable COVID-positive patients with reassurance and monitoring in the home setting, with ongoing support through their illness, and the ability and knowledge of when to come into hospital for acute care based on their oxygen saturation.

Both quantitative and qualitative data will be collected and used to inform future planning that will be responsive to the needs of community members and reflects the realities of how those in our community cope with at-home, pre-hospital care.
